Does a customer have to take a Contactless card out of their purse/wallet to use it?

If a customer has more than one card with Contactless capability (which could include payment cards, transit cards such as Oyster, or even a security pass for doors at work), then they will need to remove the one they want to use from their purse/wallet and hold it close to the reader.
